Belly of the Beast stars action-hero Steven Seagal as Jake Hopper who runs a private security business, a relatively calm life then the one he had ten years ago as a CIA operative stationed in Thailand. His former partner, Sunti, also leads a quiet life as a Buddhist monk, as a way to atone for his sins. However, things quickly get unsettled when Jake gets a tip from an old CIA friend that his daughter Jessica and her friend Sara have been kidnapped during their trip in Thailand. Apparently a fundamentalist Islamist group called Abu Karaf have claimed responsibility, believing that Sara, daughter to a US senator, would be a strategic ransom. After learning that the CIA plan on dealing with the issue through the Thai army, Jake reconnects with Sunti, and establishes contact with those necessary to get him to Abu Karaf. During his search, Jake learns of Jantapan, a powerful military rebel in the region that would like nothing more than to expand his power, and he might be the one behind the kidnapping with ulterior motives. Jantapan tries to send a powerful ancient warrior to kill Jake, but the ceremony goes wrong and the spirit enters Jantapan making him all the more powerful. Jake must muster up all the physical and spiritual strength he has left in order to save his daughter and correct an international political misunderstanding. Rated R for violence, language and brief nudity.
