Scandalous Seductress Or Innocent & Misunderstood? While retaining her secret identity, the illustrious Mrs. Erlynne saves Lady Windemere from making a grand social faux-pas with the scoundrelly Lord Darlington. The story begins in 1930 with a broke Mrs. Erlynne fleeing New York after destroying the marriages of several wealthy couples but Mrs. Erlynne describes herself as poor and infamous, driven from New York society by jealous wives. Mrs. Erlynne sees a news photo of wealthy Lord Windermere and his young wife: she heads for the Amalfi Coast to be among the rich and famous for 'the season' and to snare Mr. Windermere. The gold digger seeks a new target and trails just-married Robert Windermere to Italy, where he is honeymooning with his new wife Meg. Rumors spread throughout the Italian town of Robert’s infidelity when Mr. Windermere’s car is frequently seen in front of the home wrecker’s residence. Meg is blissfully innocent as she blushingly fends off attentions from a young English nobleman, an international playboy who thinks he's in love. Mrs. Erlynne is also pursued by a worldly-wise older English nobleman. Mrs. Windermere's 20th birthday party approaches, where all plays out amid numerous amoral Wildean aphorisms. In a short period of time these reports reach Meg and she retaliates against Robert by romancing her secret admirer, playboy Lord Darlington. A love triangle forms as aristocrat Lord Augustus also takes a liking to Mrs. Erlynne. However things are not what they seem as this story continues to unravel until the very last frame. This movie is rated PG-13.
