Ten years later, a sequence of small earthquakes disrupt the dens of the reptiles prompting them to wriggle their way to the surface to begin their attack on the California town of Santa Mira. Being bitten or coming into contact with any one or thing that has been bitten is sufficient to infect subjects. Town doctor David Henning sends samples to his wife at the DoD looking for answers. But even though her bosses have the cure since they created the virus, they would rather bury the whole affair and get a presidential order to firebomb the town; so their failure with the lab and contributions to the outbreak remain secret…
