Four years have passed since the InGen Corporation opened Jurassic Park, an island populated by caged, living dinosaurs that eventually broke free from their human captors. A massacre of humans ensued, and the island was subsequently transformed into a sanctuary for the animals.

While dinos were exhibited in Jurassic Park, they were incubated and engineered on another island. The beasts have long since escaped from InGen's laboratories, and now the company intends to recapture the prehistoric creatures to launch a new Jurassic Park. Hammond (Richard Attenborough) and his girlfriend, Sarah (Julianne Moore) intend to thwart InGen's plans.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park was nominated for an Oscar, a Grammy Award, and an MTV Movie Award.  Like its predecessor the picture was a blockbuster, grossing $618 million at the box office.
