(mbc.net) In 460 AD, on the eve he is to be crowned Caesar and Emperor of all Rome, Romulus (Thomas Sangster) overhears his father, Orestes (Iain Glen), and Odoacer (Peter Mullan), commander of the barbaric Goths disputing as Odoacer wants a third of Italy to stand behind the child Emperor, Orestes naturally refuses. Following his coronation, Romulus watches as Odoacer and his troops, led by Wulfila (Kevin McKidd), massacre everyone, including his parents.

Through his tutor, Ambrosinus (Ben Kingsley)’s wit, he manages to save Romulus from execution and gets them banished to Capri instead, where Romulus stumbles upon the legendary sword forged for Caesar from a fallen star. In the meantime, Roman general Aurelius (Colin Firth), his three surviving legionaries, as well as a Keralite warrior skilled in martial arts, named Mira (Aishwarya Rai) plan to rescue Romulus from Wulfila and the rest of Odoacer’s men keeping him hostage, and travel west to Britannia where the Dragon Legion may still remain loyal to the Emperor. Only there, a new set of perils, including the mysterious and dark warlord Vortgyn (Harry Van Gorkum), awaits them…
