The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture - AFAC - is a unique initiative that addresses the lack of support for independent cultural production in the Arab region. Based in Beirut, AFAC is an independent institution that offers financial and professional support to emerging and established artists and cultural institutions while promoting cross-cultural collaboration across the Arab region and globally. AFAC envisions a thriving Arab art and cultural scene, one that is confident in its expression, open to dialogue, accessible to all and sustained locally by committed patrons.

Founded in 2007, AFAC is active in 18 Arab countries and opens annual calls for proposals in Literature, Performing Arts and Visual Arts during the first half of the year and Cinema, Music and RTR (Research/Training/Regional Events) during the second half. With a 2 million USD annual grant budget, about 1,000 applications are received annually and 100 new projects awarded every year.
