The 19th Global WIL Economic Forum

is proud to team up with MBC Al Amal – the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of MBC

to launch the

Best Short Film Competition
for Women’s Economic Empowerment.

We are looking for films of any genre – fiction, documentary, animation, etc – that challenge gender stereotypes,
celebrate women or promote inclusion. The competition is open globally to all established and aspiring film makers.
To enter, directors will submit a short film (2 to 15 minutes long) that highlights their perspective on women,
challenge gender stereotypes or promote inclusion.
The submissions may be any language, but must at least be subtitled in English.
Judges will score entries based on production quality, originality, representation of the concept/theme, and voice.
And all works must be submitted through online form.
Deadline for submission is
October 15th, 2017.
Shortlisted films will be screened at the
Global WIL Economic Forum on October 25th and 26th, 2017.
The author of the winning film will be presented with an award by the UAE Ministry of Economy at the Global WIL
Achievement Awards. The winning film will be shown during the forum’s opening ceremony, and the winner will have
the opportunity to make their work available for free on several media platforms the week following the forum.
The author of the winning work will be interviewed and promoted through press releases and radio/TV appearance(s).
