"MBC Hope" & "UN World Food Program” mass energies to help Egyptian Children

MBC Group has signed an agreement with United Nation World Food Program to help Egyptian Children

MBC Group has signed an agreement with  United Nation World Food Program, whereby MBC makes a symbolic financial contribution (100 thousand US dollars) during the fourth quarter of 2013, directed to help improve health and education for children in some Egyptian villages. The agreement comes within the framework of the initiative "Do Good" launched by MBC during Ramadan through "Twitter", under the umbrella campaign "MBC Hope".

In this context, Ashraf Hamouda, Head of private partnerships and business development in the World Food Program - WFP for the Middle East and North Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe, said: "MBC Hope today contributes in providing education and health services for around 100,000 children in some villages of Al-Fayoum Governorate in Egypt,” adding that the campaign in collaboration with WFP will also provide food aid to the families of these children along the year. " 

Mazen Hayek, official spokesman of MBC Group and the Director of Public Relations and Commercial Affairs, on his part, commented saying: "Through MBC Hope campaign “Do Good” in Ramadan, Twitter donations amounted to $300,000. As we promised, the amount was donated to three known charities in KSA, UAE and Egypt.”

“Today’s agreement with WFP is part of our initiative to “Do Good” and this deal will help over 1,000 Egyptian children get better education and health services.

It is worth mentioning that "MBC Hope" (Corporate & Social Responsibility - CSR) is working closely with a number of major associations and humanitarian institutions in the region, to provide moral and material support to charities and other institutions offering social and community services around the region.
