Cannes choices MBC’s Bab Al Hara3 and Noor at the Top 10 TV Programs Globally

(Dubai-MBC.net) Bab Al Hara3 and Noor (Gümüs Turkish soaps), two hugely popular series which aired in 2008 on MBC1 and MBC4 respectively, ranked among the Top 10 TV programs in 2008 globally, after capturing the hearts, minds and imaginations of the whole Arab world.

The list were announced at MIP TV 2009, the TV world’s most prominent global event of the year, which is currently being held in Cannes, France with the participation of more than 13,000 industry professionals from around the world.

Published by Eurodata TV Worldwide, the annual 2009 Report entitled ‘One Television Year in the World’ assesses programming performance, trends and audience information in more than 80 territories around the world, under the auspices of Médiamétrie, the French inter-professional company which measures the audiences of both audio-visual and interactive mediums.

“Once again, MBC Group’s leadership is confirmed by one of the world’s most independent and credible TV audience assessment reports” said Mazen Hayek, MBC Group Director for Marketing, PR and Commercial. “These findings come as an additional sign of the group’s competitive edge in offering viewers an engaging and unique TV experience, strong with the best TV content, be it acquired internationally or produced locally” Hayek concluded.

The Eurodata 2009 Report also indicates that the average worldwide daily TV viewing increased to reach 188 minutes, a 1 minute increase from 2007.
